50 kilometres for cancer care
On Saturday October 3 I'm riding 50 kilometres in the BMO Ride for Cancer.
I moved to Nova Scotia thirteen years ago and it's home now. I still can't quite believe I get to live somewhere this beautiful.
It also has the highest cancer rates in Canada. The ride funds cancer care at the QEII, so the money stays here in Atlantic Canada. This is the twelfth ride and the last one.
I've been riding on the weekends. The rides have been 25 kilometres so far, and in September I'm bumping it up to 50!
All the donations I get on Insight Timer between April and the ride are going to this. If you've taken a class with me and left a donation, that's where your money is going. Thank you. Every one of those donations means a great deal to me.
You got me past my original goal of $1,000, so I've raised it to $1,500. I'd be glad to go past that one too. I've got a month. Whatever you can give, thank you. 🙏
I'm dedicating this ride to my cousin. She lives in Australia and I haven't seen her in a long time, and she's been fighting cancer. I’m proud of her. She's a long way away. Riding for her is my way of staying close and thinking about her while she goes through this. 🩷💜🩷
